Fallout (American TV series 2024) – Selective Ranks

Fallout, a forthcoming American post-apocalyptic drama series, is being brought to life by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner for Amazon Prime Video. This adaptation draws its inspiration from the beloved role-playing video game franchise originally crafted by Interplay Entertainment and now under the stewardship of Bethesda Softworks.

Amazon secured the rights to develop a live-action rendition back in 2020, officially announcing the project in July of that year. Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan’s Kilter Films teamed up with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks to spearhead the production, with Nolan taking the directorial reins for the initial trio of episodes. Todd Howard, a prominent figure at Bethesda Game Studios known for his contributions to the series, joined Joy and Nolan as an executive producer. The creative helm of the series was entrusted to Robertson-Dworet and Wagner in January 2022, setting the stage for the casting of Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell in key roles over the subsequent months.

Set against the backdrop of a future Los Angeles ravaged by nuclear devastation, Fallout plunges viewers into a world where survival means retreating to subterranean shelters to evade the dangers of radiation, mutated beings, and marauding bands.

Walton Goggins was unveiled as a pivotal figure in February, portraying Cooper Howard, an actor transformed into a Ghoul in the aftermath of the cataclysmic bombs. March saw the addition of Ella Purnell to the cast, followed by Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten joining as regulars in June.

Noteworthy news emerged in January 2024 with the revelation that Ramin Djawadi had composed a score influenced by the iconic musical themes of Inon Zur’s compositions from the Fallout series.
