Lainey Wilson says talking to God

Amidst the whirlwind of fame and the demands of the music industry, Lainey Wilson finds solace in her faith.

“I believe there are a few anchors that keep me rooted,” the 31-year-old country sensation shared with Fox News Digital ahead of the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. “But most importantly, it’s my faith.”

She continued, “I may be outspoken, but I also have deep conversations with God. It’s crucial to remain grounded. Whether it’s reaching out to my mom, connecting with family, or spending time with my nephews, surrounding myself with those who truly love and understand me is essential. That’s how I keep myself centered.” At the music awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday night, Wilson graced the red carpet alongside fellow country artist Jelly Roll. Later, the duo delivered a captivating performance at the Dolby Theater.

In February, Wilson shared with Fox News Digital, “My lifelong dream has been to sing and write country music, and the opportunities it has provided me with continue to astound me.”

The Louisiana native frequently incorporates themes of faith into her music, evident in hits like “Me, You and Jesus” and “Sunday Best.” Reflecting on her upbringing in a 2022 interview with Southern Living’s Biscuits and Jam podcast, Wilson expressed, “Our family’s connection to the church was fundamental to our upbringing. We hold a deep love for Jesus, and I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am today without Him. It’s ingrained in who I am.”

Discussing her involvement in the long-running Paramount Plus series, Wilson admitted to Fox News Digital, “I’m still in the dark about what’s next for ‘Yellowstone.’ I haven’t received any updates. I recently spoke with Kelly Reilly [who portrays Beth Dutton], and we’re both eagerly awaiting news.”

She added, “Once they give us the call – we’re ready.” The Kevin Costner-led Western aired the first half of its fifth and final season in November 2022. The second half was initially slated for November 2023, but due to industry strikes, its release was delayed.

In November, Paramount Network announced that the final episodes of “Yellowstone” would premiere in the fall. The series centers on the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family, owners of the largest ranch in the United States, set in Montana. Alongside Reilly, the cast includes Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, and Wes Bentley. In a parallel to her real-life career, Lainey Wilson character is a country music performer who entertains at John Dutton’s gubernatorial inauguration celebration.
