Early and Personal Life

Nicholas John Robinson, an American actor, was born on March 22, 1995, in Seattle, Washington. His early acting endeavors included performances in a 2008 stage rendition of A Christmas Carol and Mame. He gained prominence with a main role in the television sitcom Melissa & Joey (2010–2015).

Growing up, Nick Robinson was one of five siblings. Initially attending Seattle Preparatory School, he later moved to Los Angeles during his freshman year after securing a regular role on Melissa & Joey. He completed his high school education at Campbell Hall School in 2013. Accepted into New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences, Nick Robinson balanced his studies with his acting commitments, attending summer sessions while working on subsequent seasons of Melissa & Joey.

Career

Nick Robinson entered the world of professional acting at just eleven years old, debuting in a stage rendition of Charles Dickens’ classic, “A Christmas Carol.” Matt Casella, a talent scout, recognized his potential and connected him with agencies, eventually leading to a signing with the Savage Agency based in Los Angeles. However, due to the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, Robinson’s family relocated to Washington, where he continued honing his skills on stage within the Seattle area.

His breakthrough came in 2015 when he portrayed Zach Mitchell in the blockbuster hit “Jurassic World,” garnering widespread recognition. Following this success, he took on the role of Ben Parish in the film adaptation of “The 5th Wave,” released in January 2016. Although these commitments clashed with his availability for multiple episodes of the final season of “Melissa & Joey,” he managed to return for the concluding three episodes.

Nick Robinson further showcased his talent as the lead in the independent film “Being Charlie,” a semi-autobiographical piece directed by Rob Reiner, which premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and hit theaters in 2016.

In 2020, he co-starred in the FX miniseries “A Teacher” and lent his voice to narrate DM responses in the “Love, Victor” series, a spinoff from “Love, Simon,” appearing in two episodes. Continuing his streak, in 2021, he starred in the Netflix miniseries “Maid,” alongside Margaret Qualley and Andie MacDowell.
